Friday, 5 November 2021, Cdr. (navy) Jaime Baron relinquished the Command and Colours of the NATO Force Integration Unit Romania to Col. Cristian Ivanescu, during a change of command ceremony at NFIU Romania headquarters.
The ceremony was presided by the MND-SE Commander, BGen. Cristian Dan, who entrusted the NFIU Romania Colours to the new Commander of our unit, Col. Cristian Ivanescu. We were also honoured to receive the endorsement speech of BGen. Florin Barbu, Deputy Commander of Land Forces Operational Component.
During over 24 years of activity, Col. Ivanescu has performed various tasks, both command and staff positions, from the tactical level to the strategic level of the Romanian Armed Forces, including two deployments in the Theatre of Operations Afghanistan and several assignments within NATO command and NATO force structures.
