Colonel Ioan-Tiberiu Cojocaru, Commander of NATO Force Integration Unit Romania, recently visited the Luftwaffe’s Tactical Air Wing (TAW) 31 “Boelcke” at Nörvenich Air Base, Germany. Following the German unit’s deployment to Romania in 2023 , the Commander of the TAW, Colonel Timo Heimbach, invited NFIU ROU to Nörvenich.
The visit was an great opportunity to get an insight on the Wing’s mission and the capabilities of the Eurofighter Typhoon.
With our German Air Planner by his side, this visit highlighted the strong ties and ongoing collaboration between NATO Force Integration Unit Romania and the German Air Force. A key moment was meeting Lieutenant Colonel Markus Kuchenbauer, Commander of the Flying Group, further cementing our united front in defense and cooperation.
This engagement reflects our continuous commitment to strengthening NATO’s collective defense and ensuring peace across the Euro-Atlantic area.
