We were honored to welcome Brigadier General David Pack, Deputy Commanding General (Plans) of the 82nd Airborne Division to our headquarters on February 8, 2024.
The 82nd Airborne Division completed the transfer of authority on December 15, 2023 and established “Task Force 82” at “Mihail Kogălniceanu” Air Base, Romania.
“Task Force 82” consists of all US forces participating in enhanced vigilance activities at “Mihai Kogălniceanu” Air Base.
The presence of rotational units in the Black Sea Region demonstrates the commitment to NATO’s mission to strengthen the eastern flank, secure European allies and partners, and deter aggression.
During the meeting, the Commander of NFIU Romania, Colonel Tiberiu Cojocaru, highlighted the current status, roles, and responsibilities of our unit, followed by discussions on future cooperation.
